Advent Events 2021

As part of our celebrations during Advent we would love to decorate the village with stars. We are asking everyone to decorate one or more stars and display them in their windows. If you don’t feel confident creating your own star, templates can be downloaded here.

To celebrate the coming of Jesus, The Light of the World, we will be holding a light event on Sunday 5 December outside the Church. Come along between 5 – 8 pm and light a candle in memory of a loved one or in appreciation of someone who means a lot to you. You will also be able to write a name/message on a wooden disc to hang on our tree. Tea and coffee will be supplied and gifts can also be brought along at this time for distribution by the Salvation Army.

Donations for the Salvation Army toy appeal can be brought unwrapped to Church on Sunday, 5 December at 10 am or to the Light Night 5-8 pm that night. Suggested suitable gifts are listed below.

• 0-3 years: dolls, teddy bears, cot mobiles, baby clothes, bath toys, CDs of suitable music and nursery rhymes, puzzles

• 3-5: dolls and action figures, cars, lorries, DVDs and CDs (music and nursery rhymes), colouring sets, pencils, crayons, books, puzzles

• 5-10: educational games & toys, stationery (colouring sets, pencils, crayons, school sets), CDs & family friendly DVDs, books, puzzles, wordsearch, crosswords
