Police Scotland Fraud Prevention Advice

We have been asked to make you aware of the following:-
Perpetrators have been contacting victims (usually the elderly) and convincing them they are from their Bank. They say they have observed fraudulent activity on their account and they are required to transfer money to a ‘safe account’, asking for account numbers and convincing the victim to arrange a bank transfer online or to attend at their Bank to arrange this. Victims should hang up and then contact their Bank direct to check.
Please also be aware of bogus callers at your home trying to convince you to part with money for house repairs which are never carried out.
