Some thoughts from Barbara Edmonson at Vision Ministries for whom we are filling Smartie tubes with 20p’s to help bring clean water to the people living in the slums of Kibera, Nairobi.
| “My prayer for 2026 is that God would open our eyes and that we would see all the amazing things He has prepared for those who love Him. That we would see life from Gods perspective. That we would enter His peace knowing God truly cares and loves each of us.
We need divine intervention in our lives to see and understand God’s word and presence and to see beyond the natural. Taking ourselves away from all the hustle and bustle of the world allows us a new port of understanding that far exceeds anything we can imagine, opens us to a new beginning, living in the presence of God – heaven on earth. The world is continually in a rush – but we do not have to join in, God has a plan and purpose that brings order out of chaos, stills the storms and far outreaches anything we can imagine, ask or think. He cares about everything that is a concern to us – everything – even to finding a parking place. Just staying with family – I took my young grand-daughter out for a juice and cake – a little chill time together – I am telling you – everywhere was crazy busy yet in the middle of it all we were able to park in the busiest of car parks near the entrance to everywhere we went, have a lovely quiet corner to ourselves in the café, and even enjoy a little time on a slide and climbing frame in an empty play area – it was like peace and tranquillity accompanied us the entire afternoon. 2026 a time to enter His peace, and, as the saying goes, ‘smell the roses’, look at the beautiful sunset/ sunrises – look for the winter flowers, look for the beauty around ……… receive the blessings that God showers on us daily, and then share with others. The world needs to know Someone loves them, Someone cares, that there is calm to be found in any storm as we draw close to Him and partake of His wisdom and His fellowship – that Someone is, of course, Jesus.
