Vision Ministry- August 2025

Some thoughts from Barbara at Vision Ministry for whom we are filling Smartie tubes with 20p’s to help bring clean water to the people living in the slums of Kibera, Nairobi.

What does the present and eternal love of Jesus really mean to us?

How do we comprehend a love that is endless, that does not rely on us or anything we do? A love we cannot earn, buy or hand down.

It is so hard to get our heads around the concept that anyone could and would choose to love us so unconditionally – with all our faults and failings, and not only love us, but give their life for us, that’s what Jesus did on the Cross.

We do not experience that kind of love in the world – it is beyond our capabilities to grasp in the natural.

God’s love is a love that we must receive by faith. Faith in Who He is.  Faith in the truth and completeness of the Word of God.

God is love. If we do not believe God is who He says He is – then we will never walk into the fulness of the faithfulness, the protection, the provision that He lavishes on us through His everlasting love.

1 John 4:16 – “And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them”.

God is not a man that He should / or could lie. He is who He says He is and He does what He says He does.

“God is not man, one given to lies, and not a son of man changing his mind. Does He speak and not do what He says? Does He promise and not come through?” (Numbers 23:19 Message translation)

We cannot compare the love of our natural worldly understanding with the love of God – because God is love – there is no deceit, falseness in Him.  He cannot operate in any other way but in love, perfect love, a love that passes our knowledge but a love that we can experience and receive through faith.

Zephaniah 3:17 – “The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness’ He will quiet you by His love; He will exult over you with loud singing.”

I love that – ‘He will quiet you by His love; He will exult over you with loud singing.’

Jeremiah 31:3 – “The Lord appeared to him from far away, I have loved you with an everlasting love’ therefore I have continued My faithfulness to you.”

Ps 36:7 – “How priceless is your unfailing love, O God! People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.”

John 15:13 – “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.”

Let’s take a moment to dwell on these scriptures – and to dig deeper into His Word to discover His loving faithfulness.

It doesn’t matter what we have done – God is so forgiving – as Zephaniah says, He will quiet you by His love, He will rejoice, glory over us with loud singing.

This August receive His love and let us allow Him to bring His everlasting peace into our lives.

Have a truly blessed August

Love Barbara x
